The peace and serenity of Kampung Pisang (Banana Village) is thrown into complete chaos one fateful night….. .The troubles start with the sudden death of Pak Abu, the Kampung’s main Al-Quran reader, who suddenly falls off his bike in front of three kampong men. These three troublemakers are always hanging around the roadside, plucking their guitar and singing (especially during prayer time). The three lads, Husin, Atan and Mat Karan rush Pak Abu’s body back to his house, and quickly tell the great tale to Pak Jabit, the head of the kampong. Pak Jabit goes over to Pak Abu’s house to pay his respects, but suddenly dies when looking at Pak Abu’s prostate body.
The situation is tense. The three lads leave to go outside the house, using all their intellectual prowess, debating the curious circumstances in which both have passed on. Suddenly a cry breaks the near-silence of their discussion. Pak Abu’s two lovely daughters, Cikgu Munah and Cikgu Maimun (there is not many respectable jobs left in the kampong except to teach) are in shock to find both bodies are suddenly missing in action. The warning drum is taken out, beaten to let out a sound that has long not been heard in the kampong. All the villagers come out of their houses one by one…. Heading towards the main focus point of the kampong, the “Hall”. Rumours fly… this person saw a ghost on the way to the Hall. The other ran into a dead body, another thought he saw something fly by. In the chaos of the storytelling a few more drop dead. The villagers are even more afraid. This is a disaster….
Then the need to blame starts…. “It is because you drank toddy the other day that our village has to face this disaster”… etc. An investigation is held. Finally after much pontification, they source the problem to everyone who has visited Pak Menawer’s shop by the river seem to have suffered this strange affliction of dropping dead. Mat Karan and Deris are given the task to find Pak Menawer whilst Husin is to look after the people in.. the “Hall”. However, all are disappointed when the two boys return empty handed. Pak Menawer has disappeared. All they can do is to identify who has been to Pak Menawer’s shop and keep them tied up. People start denying their activities, nobody wants to admit to having gone to the shop. Suddenly, there is a black out. It is dark. No one can see. The lights come back on (thanks to TNB), and screams ring out throughout the hall. The missing bodies are now back in force. Standing by the door, wanting “Otak”. Zombies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They start to attack. There is a riot when people try to escape the “Hall”. The police are informed, and conduct, this time, a “proper” investigation. Little do they know, one constable who lives in the kampong has become a zombie too…. Even the police are ridden with problems. The night is long. How is Husin (the local kampong hero) supposed to save the kampong from this terrible tragedy? Especially since he is short sighted and has lost his glasses? How are Mat Karan and Atan to prove they are not just layabouts, but that they can take care of the women in the kampong (especially since Cikgu Maimon is quite cute)?? What is the cause of the village folk turning into zombies and where oh where is the main culprit??? Watch… to find out.
